Okay, so I bought three different car seats before I found the one I liked, big deal right? So here's how the story goes:
I spent countless hours (not kidding) researching car seats. I went to Consumer Reports, I went to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and I read pages and pages of parent reviews over the course of weeks. The result: The First Years True Fit car seat. It ranked five stars across the board from the NHTSA. I ordered this expensive car seat for Ty for Christmas.
On New Years eve I spent 45 minutes adjusting and installing this seat (and taking some flesh with it) just to find that when I stuck him in it I couldn't reach the strap adjustment lever. It was impossible to get to when the car seat was rear facing!! I was HOT! So, I returned that one to Target and went straight out and bought my second choice, the Britax Roundabout. It installed pretty easy but the first time he was in it I noticed I couldn't see over the top of it to see him in his mirror and it was so tall it looked odd (but LOVED the cow print on it). Well, come to find out it was the Roundabout 50 which goes up to 50lbs so it was significantly taller.
So back it went and I ordered the Britax Diplomat from Amazon and I love it!!! It took literally 5 minutes to install, it has the true side impact protection, the straps raise without taking the carseat apart and the strap adjustment is in the perfect location; I couldn't be happier. Yea, Ty loves his big boy seat just as much as I do!
